Dunbar Hotel

Project Overview

Located in Downtown Los Angeles, this historic hotel was converted to affordable housing units. The structure was originally built in 1920’s and has 4 levels and a partial basement, consisting of perimeter unreinforced masonry walls with wood framed floors and roof. The scope includes reframing the floor to fit between the new bearing walls and posts after the removal of the existing interior bearing walls. The lateral system was upgraded with shotcrete walls around the perimeter and the center courtyard walls
